Greens warn PM not to greenwash hydrogen hub

The Greens have called on the PM to rule out the use of fossil fuels in producing hydrogen at the proposed Bell Bay Hydrogen hub. 

Clean hydrogen is not green hydrogen. Clean hydrogen uses fossil fuel electricity with a series of questionable offsets along the supply chain.

Urgent government action needed to fix Tasmanian rental affordability

The release of the April edition of CoreLogic's Quarterly Rental Review report is yet another indication that government must take urgent action to tackle rental affordability. 

The report shows Hobart's rents have increased by another 8.7% in the last 12 months. Disturbingly it also shows the cost to rent a house in the state capital has grown by 55.9% in the last 10 years, with the median rental rate now at $547 a week.

Tasmanian species on the brink of extinction have today lost their federally funded recovery plans despite the Federal Government being well aware that these critical plans expired today.

This includes recovery plans for some of Tasmania’s most iconic birds, such as the critically endangered swift parrot, the forty-spotted pardalote, King Island brown thornbill, King Island scrubtit as well as the Wedge-tailed Eagle.
